FAQ

What are the costs?
  • Standard rate: £45 per 50 minute session.

  • Concessionary rate: £35 per 50 minute session.

  • First session free.

The concessionary rate is normally offered to those who are in receipt of a UK state benefit, those in receipt of a state pension and full-time students in higher education.

What will the first session be like?

The first session is an opportunity to find out more about counselling and to decide whether it is right for you. We can talk about your reasons for being interested in counselling and I can tell you a bit about myself and my experience.

If you decide to book further sessions, we can talk through the practicalities of booking and payment. I look forward to meeting you.

How many sessions should I plan for?

The number of sessions can vary considerably depending on the material brought and of course your preference. I find that it can be useful to review progress every 6 sessions.

The first session is a chance for you to find out more about myself and the process and for me to learn more about what has brought you to counselling.

What about Confidentiality?

I am bound to confidentiality both by UK law and by my adherence to the BACP ethical framework.

There are limits to confidentiality implied by UK law and I will be happy to discuss these with you both at the beginning and during the process.
